Number Validation feature

Overview

The Number Validation feature in SMS-Magic is designed to ensure that the customer mobile numbers you are sending messages to are valid. This feature is available for the following products:

- SMS-Magic Salesforce Interact

- SMS-Magic Zoho App

- SMS-Magic SaaS

By validating the customer mobile numbers, this feature helps in reducing the chances of message delivery failures and ensures that only valid numbers receive your messages. If a number is not valid, the system provides an appropriate error message and maintains a history of these errors for future reference.

Number Validation Process

The Number Validation process is divided into three main stages: Hygiene Check, Number Validation API, and Validated Number Lookup.

1. Hygiene Check

- What We Check:

- Number format (phone number length)

- Country codes (different country codes)

- What We Do:

- Mark the number as invalid and do not proceed with sending messages if the number fails the hygiene check.

2. Number Validation API

- What We Check:

- Number validation through API

- What We Do:

- Send messages only to valid numbers and block the rest, providing an error status for invalid numbers.

3. Validated Number Lookup

- What We Check:

- Check if the number is already validated

- What We Do:

- Verify if the number is on the valid/invalid list to determine whether to send or block messages. Only new numbers are sent for validation.

4. Send to Valid Number

- What We Do:

- Send messages to verified numbers

Error Messages

During the validation process, various errors can occur. The system provides specific error messages to indicate the nature of the issue in the status message:

- Success: Message sent successfully.

  1. Invalid Number, cannot send message.

  2. Landline Number, cannot send message.

  3. Number too short, cannot send message (invalid Mobile Number).

Usage

Once the Number Validation feature is enabled and configured, it will automatically validate numbers before sending messages. Invalid numbers will be flagged, and appropriate error messages will be generated. Users can view the history of errors and take corrective actions as needed.
